Doesn’t Your Horse Deserve This…

27 May

Horse Advocates should teach their local community what to do and not do when they want to find a good home for their horses. The horse rescues should all start a campaign to educate local horse owners how to prevent sending any horse or burro, to slaughter.

If you’re a 501c3, create a seminar several times a year, at your ranch for those who want to find good homes. Or maybe create a short video or flyer to pass around at feed stores, local horse veterinarians offices, bulletin boards at your market, church, clubs you belong to and any other appropriate public bulletin walls.

It really won’t be expensive to start educating the horse community because what you’re doing is helping people make the right decisions to assure their horses are not abused or sent to slaughter. But, this may give your non-profit some donations, volunteers for ranch work/events, for social media help (facebook or twitter), setting up seminars…

Write a letter to the editor of your local newspaper about how to make sure a good home can be found..it takes some patience but doesn’t your horse deserve this effort?

Or this may happen to your horse:

Here are some links to webpages that have information on how to find a good home for your horse or burro:
